A Labrador who stole a red chili has left the internet in hysterics with his horrified reaction when he tried to eat it.
Dogs are very curious beings, and they often like to sink their teeth into things they shouldn’t. That was certainly the case for Archie the Labrador, who thought he’d found a delicious red snack—only to discover it was in fact a chili pepper.
Archie’s owner shared a hilarious video on TikTok (@bobbyfromthebin) on May 5, showing the Labrador laying on his bed with the chili in front of him. As he attempted to bite into the chili, Archie instantly appeared to regret his decision. He started to bare his teeth and repeatedly paw at the inexplicably spicy food.
Indeed, he snapped his teeth towards the chili several times but thankfully he wasn’t quite brave enough to actually try and eat it.
Archie’s hilarious reaction has delighted internet users, leading to more than 644,100 views and over 54,000 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
The caption alongside the video joked: “He stole a chili and now he’s furious.”
Archie’s attempt to eat the chili certainly led to an unforgettable reaction, but generally speaking, pets shouldn’t eat anything spicy. As explained by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, spicy food can be toxic for dogs and can lead to excessive thirst or even vomiting. It may also cause them stomach problems and pain in some instances.
Dogs should be fed a well-balanced diet and get plenty of exercise to remain healthy and active. When they’re fed human food frequently, Hill’s Pet Nutrition suggests that it can create an imbalance with their digestive system and overall wellness.
Not to mention, it can also lead to behavioral problems, such as expecting some of your food after every meal. When those dangerous habits creep in, dogs may start seeking food out themselves.
The chili pepper may not have been what Archie was hoping for, but social media users can’t get enough of his frustrated reaction. This has led to more than 290 comments on the viral TikTok video so far.
One comment reads: “The undeserved treat was an unexpected enemy all along.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “Crime doesn’t pay, Archie!”
Another person joked: “The flavor? Betrayal.”
While one commenter added: “His little screwed up nose, he’s so annoyed he doesn’t like it.”
