Liev Schreiber’s son, Sasha, is all grown up and heading to college — and the reality of goodbye is finally settling in.
“Starting to feel the pull,” Schreiber, 57, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, August 17, sharing a photo with Sasha, 18. “Gonna miss my ride or die.”
The Ray Donovan alum noted, “Having said that USC is gonna get one of the deepest, kindest, bravest and most beautiful boys I have ever known.”
Schreiber’s heartfelt message about Sasha came amid move-in week for the University of Southern California, which the teenager is set to attend this fall.
Sasha, who is the eldest child of the Perfect Couple star and ex Naomi Watts, will be part of the USC School of Dramatic Arts, according to his Instagram profile.
Watts, who also shares 16-year-old Kai with Schreiber, documented the emotional move-in process via social media as well. (Watts and Schreiber dated for 11 years before calling it quits in 2016.)
The Mulholland Drive actress, 56, posted an Instagram Story photo of Sasha with all his bags outside a building as she prepared to say goodbye to her son.
“Already balling!” Watts captioned the snap on Monday, August 18, which featured “Step No. 1” of the move. In the photo, Sasha stared at the camera while his mom hugged him tightly on the stoop.
Watts later posted a photo of her and Schreiber’s two children sharing a sweet embrace ahead of Sasha’s big move.
Earlier this summer, Watts and Schreiber reunited to celebrate Sasha’s high school graduation alongside their new significant others.
Schreiber’s wife, Taylor Neisen, was on hand for the June event, while Watts’ husband, Billy Crudup, stuck by her side. Both Schreiber and Watts tied the knot with their respective partners in 2023 and have been very hands-on with their blended family.
“The graduate!!!,” Schreiber captioned a family photo after Sasha walked across the stage and earned his diploma.
While the two sets of couples were there to toast to Sasha’s accomplishments, his siblings, Kai, and baby sister Hazel, whom Schreiber welcomed with Neisen in August 2023, didn’t appear in any photos.
The following month, Watts paid tribute to Sasha in honor of his milestone birthday.
“Happy birthday sweet, darling @sashapeteschreiber,” she wrote via Instagram in July. “18 today-and ready for the world! Cannot believe it.😊😭 Have so loved watching you grow into the kindest, most wonderful young man. Thank you for making me a first time mum.”
