Lily Allen has reacted to the news of Brooklyn Beckham’s damning statement about his family feud.
The eldest Beckham son, 26, made headlines on Monday after releasing a series of public statements criticizing his parents, David, 50, and Victoria Beckham, 52, as rumors continued to swirl about a long-suspected rift.
Allen, 40, who returned to the music industry in October 2025 with her bombshell album West End Girl—which addressed the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour and quickly erupted into a viral sensation.
Social media has since descended into a meme storm following the unexpected Instagram declaration following speculation the famous family had fallen out following Brooklyn Beckham’s marriage to Nicola Peltz-Beckham, 31, in 2022.
Newsweek reached out to press and management representatives via email for David and Victoria Beckham, as well as Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham, for comment.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote.
Shortly after, Allen shared an edited image of Brooklyn Beckham superimposed onto the West End Girl album cover on her Instagram story, depicting the estranged Beckham wearing the instantly recognizable sky-blue polka-dot puffer coat.
The raw 14-track album explores themes of loneliness, estrangement and infidelity, unpacking the heart ache and betrayal following the breakdown of a marriage.
In his statement, Brooklyn Beckham alleged that he had remained silent for years and made repeated efforts to keep family matters private, but claimed his parents and their team continued briefing the press, leaving him with no choice but to speak out.
He accused them of controlling narratives about their family through performative social media posts, staged public appearances, and what he described as inauthentic relationships designed to preserve the “Brand Beckham” image.
Brooklyn Beckham further claimed his parents attempted to interfere in his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, both before and after their wedding.
He alleged that Victoria Beckham canceled plans to design Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, pressured him to sign away rights to his name ahead of the ceremony, and repeatedly undermined his wife.
He also accused family members of making dismissive comments about Nicola, sending his siblings to publicly attack him online, and ultimately cutting him off.
He described several wedding-related incidents as deeply humiliating, including alleging that his mother “hijacked” his planned first dance with Nicola in front of hundreds of guests.
Brooklyn Beckham also claimed that attempts to reconcile were rejected unless they served public or promotional purposes, alleging that his family prioritized appearances, endorsements, and media optics over private relationships. He said requests for support outside of that framework—including a charity effort involving displaced dogs during the LA fires—were ignored.
Addressing speculation that his wife controls him, Brooklyn Beckham said the narrative was “completely backwards,” stating that he had felt controlled by his parents for most of his life.
