Season 6 of Love Island USA inspired several costar feuds — but Liv Walker and Kaylor Martin’s ongoing drama took Beyond the Villa viewers by surprise.
Love Island USA follows a different group of singles every season who have to pair off in order to stay in the show’s luxury villa. While most of the focus is on the various couples, season 6 won many of Us over due to the strong female friendships. Case in point: Liv and Kaylor.
After season 6 concluded in July 2024, Serena Page, Leah Kateb and JaNa Craig formed the iconic PPG, a.k.a Powerpuff Girls. Liv and Kaylor, meanwhile, remained close as well while weathering their newfound fame.
Peacock subsequently ordered a spinoff titled Beyond the Villa, which followed the season 6 breakout stars on the next chapter of their lives. While it seemed like Liv and Kaylor’s friendship would be at the center of the first season — it turned out that the pair had a falling out while filming the show.
Kaylor hinted that “little things” that Liv told her that she felt “weren’t very truthful” led to their issues, telling NBC Insider in July 2025, “[It] hurt me because I’m really open, and I trust everyone. I’m a very loyal friend, so when I feel like that energy isn’t reciprocated, it kind of hurts me.”
During the series premiere, which aired that same month, Kaylor confronted her former friend at an event while listing various things she felt Liv wasn’t honest about. Liv, however, was taken by surprise after assuming she was on good terms with Kaylor.
“I had no idea that was coming,” Liv said in a confessional. “I tend to read things as black and white. We were hanging out beforehand and everything seemed fine. So that’s why I was taken off-guard.”
When asked whether she felt Kaylor was playing up the dramatics for the show, Liv added, “I never want to comment on how someone feels about a situation. But I feel like everyone can make their own judgment about that. I have my opinions, and it is how it is.”
Kaylor noted that she didn’t regret most of the argument — but there was one thing she wanted to take back.
“I wish I did it in a different setting,” she admitted to NBC Insider. “It wasn’t like I was waiting for the cameras to unleash that. [Some of the drama] happened that day. So, I think that’s really important.”

When Did Liv and Kaylor Initially Form a Friendship?
After meeting in the villa while filming in Fiji, Liv and Kaylor formed a bond that only grew stronger once production wrapped. They started to travel together and Liv even stayed at Kaylor’s childhood home in Pennsylvania. Before filming Beyond the Villa, Liv and Taylor offered glimpses at their friendship on their joint YouTube channel: BLND MMNTS.
What Led to Their Fractured Friendship?
The press tour leading up to Beyond the Villa’s premiere hinted at tension between Liv and Taylor. While Liv seemed more hopeful of a reconciliation, Kaylor teased that viewers would see why that wouldn’t be possible.
The series premiere, which aired in July 2025, showed Kaylor revealing that their friendship “hasn’t been fine for months.” She claimed it started when Liv allegedly lied about a camera a brand sent that was supposed to be used by both of them.
Kaylor got even more frustrated when Liv didn’t invite her to a party for her unnamed boyfriend. Liv, for her part, argued that there was no planned event. Instead, she said she went out with her then-partner and Love Island USA alum Kendall Washington just ran into them, which is why it seemed like a planned gathering.
Amid that drama, Kaylor also mentioned a misunderstanding about getting glam and a spray tan for Beyond the Villa. This all got addressed at a party filmed for the premiere that caused Liv to get emotional and for Kaylor to storm off.
Where Do They Stand Now?
“I’ve had my own issues with people in my immediate life that have lied to me, so I don’t feel like I necessarily want someone like that in my life if that keeps happening over and over again,” Kaylor told NBC Insider. “But I do love Liv, and she’s been a great friend to me overall. I will always love her.”
