A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the leg during a home invasion in Sydney’s west, the latest in a string of shootings across the city.
Emergency services were called to Stafford Street, Penrith about 11.45pm on Sunday after reports of three men storming a home and shooting a 26-year-old man in the leg.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition. Five paramedic units attended the shooting including three intensive care teams.
Police are investigating and have appealed for dashcam footage from the area.

The shooting is the latest across Sydney during a month of gun violence.
At least a dozen shots were fired into a home at Macquarie Fields on November 5.
Another man in his 20s was shot in the leg at Greenacre on November 12.
