Narwal has made some of the best robot vacuums and wet and dry mops we’ve tested here at CNET. Most recently, we were impressed by the Narwal Flow 2 and its impressive object avoidance and recognition, which earned it a spot on our best list. Narwhal’s new lineup, revealed at IFA Berlin 2026, features more models that continue to build on perfecting what works rather than revolutionary changes.
The big news here is that Narwal’s FlowWash mopping, which used to be only on the flagship Flow series, is trickling its way down to other units in the lineup, like the Freo 20 and Freo 20 Edge. This is something we’ve seen happen across the industry.
“For a decade, we’ve focused on making mopping truly effective in robotic cleaning. The Flow 2 represents the pinnacle of that journey, and with this new lineup, we’re bringing the expertise behind it to more homes while expanding into new cleaning categories,” Junbin Zhang, Founder and CEO of Narwal, said in a press statement.
Like other companies, Narwal considers mopping one of the biggest challenges for the robot vacuum industry, especially with the new focus on removing old, dried stains. Its FlowWash mopping system is one we’ve seen on other models, in which the mop roller is continuously refreshed and cleaned.
Specifically with the FlowWash, the models include a microfiber flatted roller mop that the company says provides more consistent floor contact for stain removal. It also uses 16 angled water nozzles to refresh the mop with hot water during cleaning and an integrated scraper to remove dirt and wastewater. Finally, it has 12 newtons of downward pressure, which isn’t as high as some other robot vacuums we’ve seen at IFA, but it should get the job done, especially for models that shouldn’t cost as much.
With the Freo 20, you get the mopping features, plus 31,000 pascals of suction power. There’s also improved navigation with dual RGB cameras and AI recognition of more than 300 household objects. Narwal says this model is designed for larger living spaces and more complex home environments.
With the Freo 20 Edge, you don’t get the more advanced AI object and clutter recognition, making it more suitable for apartments and less complicated spaces. However, it also has FlowWash, 31,000 pascals of suction, lidar, and structured light 3D navigation, a slim 9.5-centimeter body to get under furniture and a self-emptying and cleaning docking station. Cordless and wet dry vacuums
The Narwal V50 Cube is the company’s new cordless vacuum that comes with an auto-empty docking station, a feature that I loved on the Levoit Aero. The dock is compact and lightweight, while the V50 Cube still has 210 air watts of suction to handle pet hair and dirt.
On the wet and dry cleaning side, Narwal has an Essential Model for daily cleaning and a Flagship Model with all the bells and whistles. The flagship model comes with 400-degree-Celsius steam and 95-degree-Celsius hot-water mopping, once again focused on stain removal and sterilization. It has 25,000 pascals of suction power, a floating scraper and a sensor that can detect dirt and adjust suction based on the floor conditions. It can lie flat and run for 40 minutes in AI mode.
Price and availability
The new models will start launching in European markets in September. The upcoming wet-and-dry vacuum range will also see new models in 2027, with launch details to follow.
In the US, the Narwal Freo 20 has been available on narwal.com and Amazon since Aug. 20 for $1,099, with a launch price of $900 until Thursday. The Narwal Freo 20 Edge is available starting Sept. 7 at narwal.com and on Amazon for $800, with a launch price of $700 from Sept. 7 to Sept. 20.
The US pricing and availability for the Narwal V50 Cube and the Narwal wet-and-dry vacuum will be determined later.
