A one-month-old baby was found dead in her mother’s Brooklyn apartment on Saturday after police responded to a 911 call from the baby’s grandmother, sources said.
Police were called to a wellness check at an apartment in Flatbush at 8:26 p.m. on Saturday night, authorities said. When they arrived, they found a 1-month-old baby girl unconscious and unresponsive, cops said.
The 911 call for a wellness check had been placed by the mother of the woman who lived in the apartment, sources said.
When police discovered the infant, she had been tucked inside a bag in her mother’s apartment, according to sources.
EMS rushed to the scene and pronounced the child dead. The cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner, authorities said.
There are no arrests at the time, and an investigation remains ongoing, police said.
