Nick Viall’s wife, Natalie Joy, has suffered another miscarriage.
“While mourning the loss of our second baby at the beginning of this year, I quickly and very unexpectedly found out I was pregnant again,” Joy, 26, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, March 23. “It took some time for me to accept what had happened only to be handed another chance so easily and so fast.”
Viall, 44, and Joy — who welcomed daughter River Rose in February 2024 — revealed in January that they recently suffered a pregnancy loss.
“Eventually, I found so much happiness,” Joy added on Sunday, referring to her experience following her first pregnancy loss. “We were finally in a place of complete and utter gratitude. [Then], this past week, I miscarried again. I underwent a D&C this time, which was harder than I imagined.”
According to Joy, it will “take some time” to feel like herself again.
“Honestly, I may never will,” Joy admitted. “I hope to keep y’all involved in whatever that may look like.”
Joy further noted that she is grateful for Viall and River Rose’s support during her loss.
“[I’m] going back to squeezing my husband and my sweet angel River Rose, who are truly the reason I have survived this time and time again,” Joy concluded on Sunday.
The former Bachelor, for his part, reposted Joy’s social media message onto his Instagram Stories, along with several other images of his wife playing with River.
Viall and Joy, who tied the knot in 2024, revealed on a January episode of their “Viall Files” podcast that the former nurse was “actively miscarrying” their second baby.
“It has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life,” Joy tearfully explained on the January 26 episode. “I’ve never experienced something where I feel so empty inside.”
She added, “Our doctor [was] able to say it was unviable, it wasn’t going to live outside of your body. It gives you some hope … if you focus on the scientific part, I think that’s what gets you through it. Which is incredibly hard to do, because as the mom, you feel everything. From the second that it was a positive pregnancy test, I felt that baby inside of me. Up until I lost it, it’s so real.”
Joy further recalled that her body felt “so empty” in the days after losing the pregnancy.
“I just also don’t want to forget this baby,” she said. “I don’t want time to go on, and for this baby to have just been, like, a blip in our lives.”
