The New England Patriots turned in what was arguably their worst offensive performance of the season, given the circumstances, in Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, falling 29-13.
Those 13 points didn’t come until the final 12 minutes of the game, after New England had already fallen behind 19-0. The Patriots went scoreless through three quarters, while quarterback Drake Maye was sacked six times, pressured 14 times from his blindside, and turned the ball over three times.
The team acknowledged its struggles, credited the Seahawks for their performance, and quickly turned the page to the offseason. That shift became official on Tuesday, when New England agreed to future contracts with 11 players for the 2026 season.

The 11 players included in the Patriots’ roster moves were guard Mehki Butler, linebacker Amari Gainer, wide receiver John Jiles, tight end Marshall Lang, tackle Lorenz Metz, defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms Jr., linebacker Otis Reese, guard Andrew Rupcich, safety John Saunders Jr., defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III, and wide receiver Jeremiah Webb.
All 11 finished the season with the organization on the practice squad and were not activated for the Super Bowl roster. However, the moves provide New England with added depth heading into the offseason and create potential opportunities for several young players as they prepare for next season.
The Patriots appear to be ahead of schedule following the conclusion of Mike Vrabel’s first season as head coach, and with young quarterback Drake Maye still on his rookie deal, the foundation is in place. However, the focus now shifts forward.
New England faces a much tougher schedule in 2026, will once again need to reset, and still has clear holes to address — particularly on the offensive side of the ball — as the team turns its attention to the NFL draft and free agency this offseason.
