The Super Bowl LIX Champions have received their rings.
On Friday night, the Philadelphia Eagles finally got their hands on some new jewelry, adding a ring made by Jason of Beverly Hills to their collection. Months after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl and hoisting the Lombardi, the next phase of the celebration has been completed.
At this point, the Eagles have just one more step to complete the celebration. Then it’s on to the next season.
After a disappointing conclusion to the 2023 NFL season, the Eagles were motivated to get back on top.
They had a slow start to the 2024 NFL season. After winning the opener on the road in Brazil against the Green Bay Packers, the Eagles went on to lose two of their next three games.
At the Week 5 bye, the Eagles were 2-2 on the year. Once they returned from the bye week, the Eagles went on an absolute tear. They started by beating the Cleveland Browns 20-16. From that point on, the Eagles fired off 10 straight wins.
The streak ended on December 22, during a road game against the Washington Commanders. The Eagles played most of the game without Jalen Hurts, who was dealing with a concussion. The Eagles lost 36-33.
With two more games left on the schedule, the Eagles won out. They ended the year with a 14-3 record. They didn’t get a first-round bye, but they picked up the home-field advantage and had it throughout the remainder of the NFC Playoffs.
In the Wild Card round, the Eagles defeated the Packers with a 22-10 victory. It was the second time Philadelphia managed to take down the Packers.
When the Eagles got to the Divisional Round, they engaged in their most competitive postseason game of the year. Dealing with snowy conditions, the Eagles squeezed out a 28-22 win over Matthew Stafford and the LA Rams.
In the NFC Championship, the Eagles landed a rematch with their NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders. Since the Commanders were the last team to defeat the Eagles, they were confident they could get the job done again, punching their ticket to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia made sure they couldn’t get anywhere close to New Orleans.
The Eagles dominated the Commanders 55-23. They took that dominant performance and followed up with another dominant showing on the NFL’s biggest stage in New Orleans. Looking for revenge from their last Super Bowl appearance, the Eagles took care of business against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs with a 40-22 win.
For the second time in franchise history, the Eagles were named the Super Bowl Champions. The veteran quarterback, Jalen Hurts, was recognized as the game’s MVP.
When the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys for Week 1 in September, they’ll celebrate one final time by hanging the Super Bowl banner in the rafters at Lincoln Financial Field. Then, the game will be in the rearview. The Eagles are once again starting the year on top, defending their title as champs.
