Before Sunday’s NFC Championship, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams couldn’t imagine what it would be like to play in the Super Bowl.
After being on multiple teams in Green Bay alongside Aaron Rodgers, where they were favorites to make it to the final game, only to come up just short, he said playing in the ultimate spectacle felt “mythical” in nature.
Following the game, Adams was emotional in the wake of another NFC title game that came down to the final minutes that didn’t go his way. The Rams had a chance in the dying minutes to take the lead, but a fourth-and-four play went awry, and the Seahawks played aggressively to not let Los Angeles get the ball until a little over 20 seconds left with no timeouts.
Adams has played in five conference championship games.
And five times the legendary wideout has come back to the locker room as second-best, still searching for that magical entryway to the Super Bowl.

“I’m proud of the way the guys fought today,” Adams answered, following a long silence, with his eyes red from the emotion of the loss. “It’s tough to focus [on the future] right now. It’s a tough moment we’re in right now. So, process the emotions of this and worry about that, but I obviously love this team. I love what this team is about.”
Adams had a few down seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets after he departed from the Packers, but found a new home in Los Angeles this past season with head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford. He’s openly said he wants to end his career with this franchise and play as long as Stafford is his QB.
In his first year for the Rams, he led the league in touchdowns with 14, even after missing the final few games of the season with a hamstring injury.
He has one more year on his contract with Los Angeles and will be hoping that 17-year veteran Stafford is there on the first day of practice to continue throwing him corner fades into the back of the end zone.
Stafford declined to answer when asked if he would be playing next year, but McVay said that he will be the team’s starter if he decides to continue into the 2026 season.
