These mourners faced an unexpected grave situation.
Wild video shows several pallbearers plunging six feet into a grave while lowering their loved one’s casket — with a grieving son even getting knocked out cold.
The footage shows pallbearers carrying Benjamin Aviles, 66, in his coffin for his burial Friday at Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia when mourners suddenly scream as the platform surrounding the hole collapsed under them.
Several men fell in, suffering minor injuries — with the dead man’s grieving son faring the worst.
“The casket lay on top of him, and he was out like a light with his face in the mud,” Aviles’ stepdaughter Maribelle Rodriguez told WPVI.
“It was just a horrible incident that happened at a bad moment,” she said.
The grieving families blame the cemetery and the Rodriguez Funeral Home — which has no relation to the family — for the alleged defective conditions for burying Aviles, who died of heart issues late last month.
“The whole thing was trembling,” the stepdaughter said. “It was wobbly, the wood was all wet and soaked.”
Rodriguez wants an apology and a refund.
“There should be some reimbursement, being that the ceremony was interrupted; nothing was done properly,” she said.
