It seems that every day, there is more news about a video game studio shutting its doors and putting talented people out on the job hunt once more. The latest studio involved in mass layoffs is none other than Full Circle, the team behind the latest “skate.” game. However, despite the team’s restructuring, “skate.” is still expected to be updated consistently.
The news comes from an official post on the Full Circle website that details why the decision is being made: “We’re reshaping Full Circle to better support skate.’s long-term future and focus the team on the things that matter most to you – and making those things great.”

“skate.” launched in September 2025 as a free-to-play title that updates most everything from the well-loved “Skate” franchise, allowing players to launch themselves and perform tricks from all sorts of locations. It was met with Mixed reviews on Steam, with some reviews blaming the parent company, EA (Electronic Arts).
Unfortunately, this is just the latest in a string of layoffs happening with EA, having started in 2024 when the company laid off the entire Ridgeline Games team before it had even developed its first title. It was shortly after these layoffs that it was announced that EA would be bought out by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake Partners, and others in a cash purchase. Full Circle’s post concerning the layoffs does not cite the buyout as a reason for the company restructuring.
The third season of “skate.” is still expected to be released on March 10, though a fourth season has not been announced.
