TGI Friday’s has launched a new holiday menu, and the lineup includes brand new cocktails and eats like the Merry Mountain tower, Bruschetta Chicken Pasta, the Sleigh-Cation and more.
Newsweek has reached out to TGI Friday’s for comment via email.
Why It Matters
Several other restaurant chains have added new menu items this fall, including Panda Express, Popeyes, Taco Bell, and Insomnia Cookies. And the holiday season will bring many more menu innovations as brands look to capitalize on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
New menu items often boost foot traffic and generate revenue. And as consumers reel in their spending amid inflation, these novelty menu additions help keep sales volumes higher.
What To Know
Guests at TGI Friday’s can order three new appetizer “towers” this holiday season, including the Merry Mountain Tower, Naughty & Nice Tower and Glaze the Halls. These towers are a mix of appetizers like mozzarella sticks, wings, ribs, potstickers and more.
Meanwhile, the new holiday entree lineup includes the Bruschetta Chicken Pasta, Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta and Blackened Chicken Alfredo.
On the new cocktail list, customers can enjoy a Sleigh-Cation, a tropical mocktail, or liquor-focused drinks like the Jolly Pom-a-Rita and Ho Ho Hennessy.
The Snowball Choco-Tini also features vanilla vodka and Baileys Chocolate Martini for those looking for a sweet, spiked beverage. Others will enjoy the Big Kahuna Clause made with two types of rum and island fruit.
Hot cocoa and cherry cream cola are also available on the new beverage menu.
The two new holiday desserts available are the Melting Snowman Sundae and Santa’s Cookies, which come warm and full of chocolate chips.
What People Are Saying
Alex Beene, a financial literacy instructor for the University of Tennessee at Martin, told Newsweek: “The latest round of new menu items from TGI Friday’s reflecting a growing industry-wide trend of introducing new options in the hope it will attract cash-strapped customers back through their doors. So many Americans have foregone dining out over the last year in favor of eating at home to save money.”
What Happens Next?
Throughout November and December and until January 5, select TGI Friday’s locations are also transforming into holiday-themed restaurants, bringing together signature elves, interactive experiences, festive menus, and special décor.
“TGIFriday’s assortment of holiday-themed items could provide just the jolt they need to drive more business in the coming weeks,” Beene said.
