Ana Navarro is soaking up the summer on the Mediterranean Sea.
On Sunday, July 13, The View cohost, 53, shared several photos of her on her family vacation with her husband, Al Cárdenas, including a photo of her floating in the water in a black one-piece swimsuit and showing off her physique in a tight black mini dress with Cárdenas and their dog.
“Hard to believe just one week ago, my little family was sailing in the Mediterranean, without much access to news or social media,” Navarro wrote via Instagram alongside the carousel of photos. “Trying hard to hold on to that feeling and joy. When the sadness and outrage overwhelm us, let’s try to transport ourselves to our happy place. #idratherbesailing ⛵️.”
Navarro has been candid about her body transformation over the years, including shutting down comments about being on Ozempic to lose weight.
“I’ve posted about my weight-loss journey many times. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life,” Navarro shared on Instagram in June 2023. “The [coronavirus] pandemic and menopause made it worse. In 2021, my mom died of kidney disease brought on by diabetes. She suffered terribly the last years of her life. That scared the beejeezus out of me.”
The talk show host continued on to explain that she visited the Rancho La Puerta “wellness spa” in Mexico in August 2022 with a couple of her friends.
“We had all turned 50 and wanted to be healthier,” she revealed. “I spent time there learning to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think of my lifestyle, and being more active. We did all sorts of exercise classes for hours a day.”
Navarro noted that she felt “determined to continue” her “health habits” when she returned home from the resort.
“I also sought professional help — nutritionist, medical supervision (I was on the verge of pre-diabetes), pilates coach (I joined a Pilates club in Miami and NYC), and a pickleball coach (I try to play at least twice a week),” she said. “So it’s been a complete lifestyle change — except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up.”
Navarro added that she has lost about “4-5 lbs” a month, clarifying that she is “not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse any solution.”
“We all have to figure out what works for us,” she explained. “It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle… 🤷🏻♀️.”
