Timothée Chalamet can picture himself as a father — at least one day.
“That could be on the radar,” Chalamet, 29, coyly told Vogue in a cover story published Thursday, November 6, recalling how he once watched an interview where an unidentified individual was “bragging about not having kids and how much time it afforded them to do other stuff.”
According to Chalamet, he thought the person’s perspective was quite “bleak.”
“Like, holy s***,” he quipped. “Oh, my God.”
Chalamet further noted that he wouldn’t want to give up his career for the sake of having a family.
“I had a friend of mine in school — a girl named Grace — and her parents had the most beautiful, amazing marriage,” the Marty Supreme star told Vogue. “This is not in [the] context of being great, so this is a little tangential, but it showed me excellence can exist without it being arduous. You don’t have to be selfish to be great, no. I know because I’ve worked with directors who are incredible and who are incredibly present in their family life.”
Chalamet even pointed to his Dune director, Denis Villeneuve, as a pinnacle of balancing work and family life.
“I’m just amazed by him. It was his birthday two days ago, and one of his kids flew themselves out as a surprise,” the actor recalled. “He’s hugging him, and he’s weeping on set, and people are taking videos. Denis is a total master of his craft, and he’s a great family man.”
Chalamet, for his part, has been in a relationship with reality TV star Kylie Jenner for two years but has remained mum about their connection.
“I don’t say that with any fear,” he told the outlet when asked about Jenner, 28. “I just don’t have anything to say.”
Despite keeping his romance under wraps, Chalamet and Jenner’s bond has continued to flourish away from the limelight.
“Timothée went out of his way to make her feel special on her birthday,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in August. “He sent gifts, they had a FaceTime call and he coordinated meaningful gestures with Kylie’s friends that made her feel very special.”
According to the insider, Chalamet and Jenner “adore each other” and have seamlessly managed their relationship amid respective busy work commitments.
“[They] really make it work even with two busy schedules and sometimes not even being in the same time zone,” the source added to Us. “[Timothée] lets Kylie just be herself, and there is no pressure from either of them. They have the same sense of humor and understanding of their two different lives. It just works.”
Jenner last dated rapper Travis Scott, with whom she shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3. The Kardashians star is also open to having more kids down the line.
“I don’t have a number in my mind,” she told HommeGirls in 2023. “Some women do, but I don’t really have a plan. I think that whatever happens is meant to happen. I believe things are written for us. Whatever is gonna happen, it’s gonna happen. But I also feel very in control of my life and my decisions.”
