A little girl was woken from her nap by her four older brothers singing that they loved her—and she was completely unimpressed.
Baby Emma is 15 months old and lives in Florida with her four siblings: Bohdi, 6; Branti, 8; Jase, 9; and 12-year-old Blake.
Mom Erica told Newsweek: “Emma is the youngest of five, and the only girl. She has four older brothers who absolutely adore her.”
This was plain to see in a viral video shared to Erica’s TikTok account, @ericagbabyxo, on April 27, which showed the boys waking their baby sister from her nap in a unique way.
In the clip, already boasting more than 1.1 million likes, the four older children serenade their sister, chanting “I love Emma,” to the tune of the classic hit “I Want Candy.”
But as her brothers shower her with love, Emma looks distinctly unimpressed, and looks up at her mother with a deadpan, “Are you kidding me?” expression.
And as Emma dishes out that bemused look, Erica and the boys burst into laughter—and carry on with their song.
Erica wrote over the video: “Waking up to her four brothers singing to her. And she’s not sure how to feel about it! Her face is PRICELESS!”
The proud mom told Newsweek: “They’re always trying to make her laugh, and singing to her was their idea to wake her up from a nap that day.
“She’s usually pretty sweet when she wakes up, but the look on her face when they started singing was hilarious—definitely a reaction saved just for them!”
Growing up with siblings has many reported benefits, and parents should help ensure a positive sibling relationship between their children.
Playing games where the children are teammates, building things together, or learning together, can help siblings see each other as teammates rather than rivals or competitors, according to Parenting Focus.
TikTok users were in stitches at Emma and her brothers, viewing the video more than 7.6 million times, one warning baby Emma: “Sis get prepared. They gone be annoying for the rest of y’all lives.”
“She said ‘get your kids,'” another laughed, as one said it was as though Emma was saying: “Couldn’t they rehearse a little bit first?”
“She looks like she’s been forced to watch her kids perform a song before they ask for a sleepover,” another pointed out, as one said simply: “She was NOT having it.”
