The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a series of tornado watch alerts across multiple states as large swathes of the U.S. continue to be battered by destructive storms.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, watches were issued for Alabama, Florida and Georgia. It follows days of extreme weather with 17 tornadoes reported across Illinois, Texas, Alabama and Indiana. In Indiana, an elderly couple were found dead after their home was destroyed.
