Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stepped out for a romantic date night in New York City on Friday, March 14. The next day, People magazine posted a photo of the two, who have been romantically linked since 2023.
In the photo, Swift, 35, wearing a gray suit jacket, had just exited an SUV, and her boyfriend was right behind her as they headed toward Del Frisco’s Grille at Brookfield Place. Kelce wore a white shirt with a long-sleeved collared shirt over top — but there was something noticeably different in the photo: Kelce’s hair.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, has apparently grown out his hair once more. In February, Kelce appeared on Instagram with a high and tight cut, and a well-groomed beard. However, it now seems as though the videos may have been pre-recorded. More recently, Kelce’s hair has been peeking out from under his ball cap in videos from the New Heights podcast.
As it turns out, Swift likes Kelce’s longer hair, which could be the reason that he’s decided to grow it out again. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes previously credited Swift with encouraging Kelce to grow out his locks.
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it,” Mahomes said during a town hall with SiriusXM NFL Radio in August 2024.
Kelce has changed his look up over the years. He’s had long hair, short hair, a scruffy beard, a short beard, and just about everything in between. He’s sported a mohawk and he’s even shaved his face keeping nothing but a bushy mustache.
When he grew out his hair during the 2024 football season, his mom, Donna Kelce, told People magazine that she didn’t have a strong opinion on her son’s new look.
“I like it. He’s always had very, very, very short hair. It’s just different, that’s all,” Donna told People in October 2024.
