Gifting goals! Travis Kelce has opened up about the unexpected gift that his fiancée Taylor Swift loved the most.
“I will say, one of Tay’s favorite gifts that I got her was the bread slicer,” Kelce, 36, disclosed on the December 24 edition of his “New Heights” podcast. “[It’s] because she’s been throwing together so much f***ing sourdough.”
Travis then joked: “I’ve got the best gut health there is. I love you, Tay!”
His brother, Jason Kelce, shouted out his sibling for the practical gift while pointing out that “one of the most unfortunate things about making fresh bread” is “trying to cut that s***.”
“It’s hard,” Jason, 38, grumbled. “The slicer makes a big [difference].”
Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, joked that she is always more concerned with the “the responsibility” of eating the fresh bread.
“I take it upon myself to crush it as fast as possible,” Kylie, 33, quipped. “And that’s, probably, not great.”
Jason assured his wife that she had the appropriate reaction to fresh sourdough bread.
“It’s fresh! Bread — if it doesn’t have the preservatives in there [and is] shelf stable — nah, it’s healthy for you,” Jason insisted.
Taylor, 36, is an avid baker who has turned fresh baked sourdough bread into a signature gift for her loved ones. During her own “New Heights” appearance in August, the “Fate of Ophelia” singer revealed that Travis joins her in sourdough bread bake-offs at home.
“We’ve set it up where he has a station and I have a station,” Taylor confirmed. “His [sourdough] rose higher than mine. His is actually more delicious than mine.”
On a November episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kylie ranked Taylor among the best of the “well-known bakers” in their family.
“Taylor makes a banging sourdough loaf. I mean, it’s so good. And pop-tarts,” she added.
During the Christmas Eve edition of their “New Heights” podcast, Jason and Travis got Kylie’s perspective on some of the best and worst gift ideas for a significant other. While Kylie approved of gift cards, Jason warned against giving such an impersonal present in a serious relationship.
“I just feel like, if it’s somebody special, I wouldn’t roll into the holidays with just a gift card,” Jason chuckled, with Travis agreeing: “That’s the best advice Jason has ever given, right there!”
Jason was also reluctant to take his wife’s suggestion about picking out clothes for a partner.
“I would err with the smaller size,” he teased. “You could also send some signals there.”
Kylie admitted that it would “piss [her] off” if Jason bought her clothes that were too small — before quickly pointing out that others might feel differently.
“Let’s be honest, women’s sizes don’t make any sense,” Jason argued. “Men’s sizes are the actual circumference of our waist, or diameter. What are women’s sizes? They’re just arbitrary sizes to make them feel better.”
Kylie weighed in by explaining, “[Sizes] are different at every store, in every brand! It doesn’t make any sense at all.”
As for scented candles, Kylie said that she personally “loves” them even though Jason has banned them at home.
“I don’t like chemicals just being burned and thrust into the air for me to be breathing in all day to get f***ing brain cancer,” Jason clarified. “I don’t think it makes any sense. Why would I want some artificial f***ing flower thing in the air that some person made in a lab from some combination of vegetables, this and that, this essence, I don’t want it in my face!”
His explanation shocked brother Travis, who replied with a laugh: “Oh my god! That is quite a stance!”
“New Heights” releases new episodes on Wednesdays.
