President Donald Trump has nominated Tammy Bruce, spokesperson for the United States Department of State for a position in the United Nations, Trump said in a post on Truth Social Saturday afternoon.
The position Bruce would move to is Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with a rank of Ambassador, the President said in his post.
Bruce previously hosted Get Tammy Bruce on Fox Nation and worked as a contributor to Fox News. She was one of several Fox presenters appointed to roles in Trump’s second administration, Newsweek previously reported.
“Since the beginning of my Second Term, Tammy has been serving with distinction as Spokesperson of the State Department, where she did a fantastic job,” Trump said, adding, “Tammy Bruce will represent our Country brilliantly at the United Nations. Congratulations Tammy!”
Bruce recently came under fire for her comments made during an appearance on Israeli TVl i24 News, which suggested the US is “next to Israel” in terms of being the best country in the world.
This is a breaking news story. Updates to come.
