President Trump blasted MSNBC, saying the leftist network should pay “vast sums of money” for the “unpardonable sin” it has done to the country — while celebrating the axing of its star host Joy Reid, whom he called a “mentally obnoxious racist.”
Trump took to Truth Social late Sunday to rip the leftist network, calling it MSDNC because it is “nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democratic party” while celebrating the end of Reid’s show.
“Lowlife Chairman of ‘Concast,’ Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenge NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid,” Trump wrote.
“Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been ‘canned’ long ago, along with everyone else who works there,” he continued.
Trump also took the opportunity to rage against some of the network’s other talent and the “damage” done to the country.
“Alex Wagner, the sub on the seriously failing Rachel Maddow show. Rachel rarely shows up because she knows there’s nobody watching, and she also knows that she’s got less television persona than virtually anyone on television except, perhaps, Joy Reid,” he wrote.
“Then there’s, of course, the LOW IQ Con Man, Al Sharpton, who has, perhaps, the lowest TV ratings in the history of television. What is he doing to Brian Roberts to stay on the air?”
Trump then claimed: “This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party. They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!”
Reid, one of the most prominent Trump critics in mainstream media, has been a fixture on the network since 2011.
However, ratings for Reid’s show sharply plummeted immediately after Trump’s re-election in November. According to Nielsen Media Research, Reid lost almost half her viewers by December, with MSNBC seeing a stunning 53% drop in primetime viewership following the election.
The final episode of Reid’s show, “The ReidOut,” will air sometime this week.
It will be replaced by a new panel show featuring co-hosts Alicia Menendez, Michael Stelle, and Symone Sanders Townsend, according to a New York Times report.
