Good morning and welcome to the third day of our live coverage of the trial of accused mushroom lunch triple-killer Erin Patterson at the Latrobe Valley justice precinct in regional Victoria.
As regular readers of the blog will know, Patterson is accused of murdering her in-laws, Don and Gail Patterson, as well as Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson by serving them individual beef Wellingtons that contained death cap mushrooms, a toxic variety of wild mushroom.

She is also charged with attempting to murder Heather’s husband, Korumburra Baptist Church pastor Ian Wilkinson, who also ate the poisoned meal but survived after spending several weeks in hospital, most of them in a coma.
Patterson, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, claims it was an accident.
