Posts on the verified Instagram account of the White House on Wednesday night have sparked numerous questions on social media.
In a video posted after 9 p.m., a woman’s voice can be heard saying, “It’s launching soon, right?” Then another voice is heard partially saying, “yes.”
The video is pointed to the ground, shoes are visible and the on-screen text reads, “sound on.”
Newsweek reached out to the White House via email Wednesday night for comment.
Conservative influencer Becky Weiss, who has more than 1 million followers on Instagram, commented on the video, saying, “What is this”
Verified Instagram account jenna.patricia.m said, “Umm… Quick question. Should we be concerned?” Her comment has been liked over 700 times.
Account priscillavento commented on the video, saying, “‘It’s launching soon right?’ Is that what I heard?”
In a follow-up post on the White House’s official account, another video showing static on a screen and noises similar to a text message are heard. The caption is an emoji of a phone and a speaker.
Instagram account heyitstwig, with over 220,000 followers, commented on this video, saying, “Anonymous, is that you?”
It is immediately unclear at the time of publication if these videos were intentionally uploaded or not. The posts come amid the ongoing war in Iran.
