A new exit poll suggests that more white women and college-educated voters are participating in the 2024 presidential election than in 2020, delivering a potentially worrying sign for former President Donald Trump.
National exit polling from Edison Research shows that 43 percent of voters this year have a college degree, up from 41 percent in 2020, according to Reuters. A total of 37 percent of the electorate was white women, and increase from 32 percent in 2020. Women made up 53 percent of voters overall, an increase from 52 percent in 2020.
Previous polling suggests that Vice President Kamala Harris has a clear edge over Trump among college-educated voters and among women, including white women.
This is a developing story and will be updated with additional information.
