The Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets will be squaring off tonight in a battle between two teams not in the playoff picture. Both teams are within the bottom three of the Eastern Conference, however, this game could be competitive for viewers.

Heading into this game, both sides are dealing with some injuries. The most notable name on the injury report for the Wizards is forward Khris Middleton.
Middleton suffered a recent knee injury and has been dealing with some soreness. Due to this, the veteran forward has been ruled out of this contest against Brooklyn.
Since coming over to the Wizards from the Milwaukee Bucks at the NBA trade deadline, Middleton has been a calming presence for Washington. If anything, he provides them with a decent scoring threat and a veteran voice in the locker room.
Washington sits at the very bottom of the conference, holding a record of 16-57 for the year. They enter this matchup having lost seven of their past 10 games overall.
As for the Nets, they aren’t quite as bad as the Wizards, but it’s been a tough season. The team is hoping to finish the year on a high note, but they enter this contest having lost nine of their past 10 games overall.
For the year, Brooklyn sits with a record of 23-51, and they are slotted in the No. 13 spot of the conference. They have lost six straight games entering this matchup, so something needs to give.

Injuries have taken hold of this Brooklyn squad, and they have a few players on the injury report for this game. The biggest name is guard D’Angelo Russell, and he has been ruled out for the contest.
Russell has been dealing with a right ankle injury, and it will cause him to miss another game. For the year with the Nets, Russell has averaged 13.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Brooklyn doesn’t have the firepower needed to overcome different injuries, and it has seen them fall in the standings. But this game against the Wizards offers them a chance to snap the losing streak and bring some confidence back to this group.
