A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged over a horror crash in Perth’s CBD on Saturday night, which left a 51-year-old man in a critical condition.
The man was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital after allegedly being hit by an e-scooter driven by the 24-year-old in Perth’s CBD on Saturday night around 8.40pm.
A 26-year-old woman was also allegedly riding on the back of the e-scooter.
“The 24-year-old rider of the e-scooter was treated by paramedics for minor injuries, but did not require hospitalisation,” police said in a statement.
“The 26-year-old female pillion passenger was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.”
The 24-year-old has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm under the influence of alcohol.
She will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.
The 51-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with information relating to the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online.
The news comes after the death of WA man Kevin Sanders just last week in East Fremantle in an e-scooter collision with a truck.
