WWE Changed Original Plans For Clash In Paris Title Match

Nikki Bella has confirmed that her Women’s Intercontinental Championship match with Becky Lynch at Clash in Paris was originally scheduled to take place on “Monday Night Raw.” The last-minute change was made to bolster the premium live event card after another title match was removed from the show.

Nikki spoke about the situation on the latest episode of “The Nikki & Brie Show.” She noted that she and Lynch were originally scheduled to have their title match in Birmingham, England, on the August 25 episode of “Raw.”

A Last-Minute Change for WWE Clash in Paris

Nikki explained that she had cut a promo during a commercial break on a previous “Raw,” challenging Lynch for the title on the following week’s episode. However, they were later informed that the match was being moved to the August 31 premium live event in Paris.

Nikki said she was informed of the change about a week before the event. The decision was made after Naomi announced her pregnancy and her Women’s World Championship match against Stephanie Vaquer was removed from the Clash in Paris card. The addition of the Lynch vs. Bella match added another high-profile title bout to the PLE.

Nikki Bella’s “Fearless” Return

Nikki Bella’s return to WWE has been a journey in itself. The Hall of Famer and former Divas Champion made her surprise return at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Initially, she returned to the company in a non-wrestling role, but her recent program with Becky Lynch has seen her step back into the ring for singles competition.

Her match against Lynch at Clash in Paris was her second singles match of the year. During the podcast, Nikki also noted that the journey of her return is currently being filmed for the second season of the Netflix docuseries, “WWE: Unreal,” which is set to be released in early 2026.
