Three people were killed when a juvenile driver allegedly barreled into a crowd of pedestrians and cars on an Oakland street Saturday night, according to reports.
The horrific crash occurred just before 11:15 p.m., at the intersection of International Blvd and 85th Ave, the Oakland Fire Department said.
Officials pronounced three people dead at the scene, while three others were transported to a hospital, two in critical condition.
The driver, identified only as a juvenile, was accused of speeding recklessly down the streets when the vehicle struck a parked car and careened onto the sidewalk, plowing into the group of people, the East Bay Times reported.
The driver allegedly attempted to flee the wreck but was stopped by witnesses and detained until police arrived.
Both the suspected driver and another person suffered minor injuries and were awaiting transport to a hospital, the fire department said.
It wasn’t immediately known what charges the driver could face for the deadly crash.
