There may not be a player more thrilled with the Cleveland Browns two selections in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL draft than quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Cleveland traded back from pick No. 6 to 9 and still ended up with one of the top offensive tackles in the draft in Utah’s Spencer Fano.
Fifteen picks later, the Browns added another offensive player — a move that surely put a smile on Sanders’ face.
With the 24th overall pick, the Browns selected Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion, who’s seen his draft stock skyrocket in recent weeks. Concepcion gives the Browns a legitimate WR1 who can play outside, in the slot, and score touchdowns in bunches.
“Concepcion is an undersized slot receiver (with some inside-out versatility) who uncovers in a flash in the short to intermediate passing game and excels with the ball in his hands — after the catch, as a runner, and in the return game,” The Ringer’s Todd McShay said.
“He quickly reaches top speed off the line of scrimmage and makes sharp breaks at full speed. He also shows a good feel for locating and sitting in soft pockets of zone coverage and a really good understanding of leveraging his routes against those coverages.”
Cleveland now has a solid 1-2-3 WR punch of Concepcion, Jerry Jeudy, and Isaiah Bond, and a star in the making in tight end Harold Fannin Jr., who led the team with 72 catches, 731 yards, and six touchdowns last season.
Adding Fano is a big win for the Browns as well. They surrendered 51 sacks last season — seventh-most in the NFL — and they lost both left tackle Cam Robinson and right tackle Jack Conklin to free agency.
