On Tuesday, Dyson announced the newest addition to its hair-care lineup, the Supersonic Travel Hair Dryer, a compact version of its flagship hair dryer designed for those on the go. It’s 32% smaller and 25% lighter than the original Supersonic, while still delivering the same performance.Â
Tara Brown, CNET’s social media producer, tested the product before its launch and said, “I have an original Supersonic, and the quality and pressure of airflow almost feels the same, which is great for the $300 price.”
The Supersonic Travel features Dyson’s smart heat control technology, which measures airflow 100 times per second to prevent extreme hair damage. It’s also universally voltage-compatible, so it adapts automatically to the country you’re in without needing a power adapter or converter.
“The Supersonic Travel delivers high-performance styling while protecting hair from extreme heat. It is built for performance, portability and hair health,” James Dyson, the company’s founder and chief engineer, said in a press release.
One of the features that Dyson hair-care fans will appreciate is the attachment compatibility with both the Dyson Supersonic and Supersonic Nural. If you already own one of these hair dryers, you can use its attachments with the Supersonic Travel.
The Dyson Supersonic Travel is available now for $299 at dyson.com and comes with the styling concentrator attachment. Additional attachments are sold separately.
