Twenty-five years after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the memory of that terrible day lives on in thousands of places across the country — from grand national memorials to quiet neighborhood tributes.
Some sit where the planes fell. Others stand hundreds or even thousands of miles away, built by communities determined to remember the people they lost and the first responders who answered the call.
