The Cadillac Championship concluded on Sunday, and it was another strong showing from world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who finished in second place, six shots behind Cameron Young, who dominated the field and pulled away over the weekend.
While Scheffler hasn’t piled up wins this year like he did in previous seasons, he has remained remarkably consistent, finishing runner-up in each of his last three tournaments.
His next focus will be the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania, the second major of the year. Scheffler won the event last year, leaving him needing only the U.S. Open to complete the career Grand Slam — a feat accomplished by just six golfers, most recently Rory McIlroy.

However, CBS Sports broadcaster Jim Nantz believes Scheffler’s moment won’t come just yet.
“I’m not going to bet against Scottie in any tournament, but I’ll say next year, in 2027 at Pebble Beach Golf Links. That’s where he’ll complete the career Grand Slam,” Nantz said during Sunday’s final round.
This will mark the seventh time the event has been held at Pebble Beach, a course where Scottie Scheffler has found success despite not yet securing a win. At the Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this year, Scheffler finished sixth, and he also recorded top-10 finishes at the event in both 2025 and 2024.
