Anyone who’s been following the NBA draft knows the name Cameron Boozer. The Duke standout is one of the most talked-about players in the upcoming draft and is projected to easily go inside the top five.
But, he’s not the only Duke player getting major kudos ahead of the draft. One other Duke player is showing up in mock drafts and gaining attention as the draft date inches closer.
That player is guard Isaiah Evans. In a mock draft from NBC Sports published on Monday, May 18, Raphielle Johnson and Kurt Helin have Evans going at No. 25 in the draft to the Los Angeles Lakers.

“The Lakers need size and shooting on the wing around Luka Dončić and Evans is a 6’5.5″ (without shoes at the combine) who can hit the 3 and played well off Cooper Flagg for a year at Duke (and then the same this year off Boozer),” Helin states. “There are questions about his defense, but drafting at this point in the first round and getting a player who fits a need is a big win for Los Angeles.”

Why Isaiah Evans is a Win for the Lakers
Anyone who lands with the Lakers is going to be lucky to train around guys like LeBron James, if he comes back, and Luka Dončić. But the Lakers would also be lucky to have Evans, because he’s a spectacular perimeter scorer and arena shooter. He’s going to make an exciting addition to the Lakers’ roster.
