The San Francisco 49ers came into Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Tampa Buccaneers with several key players dealing with significant injuries. After Sunday’s game, 49ers fans learned about another serious injury situation that starting wide receiver Jauan Jennings is dealing with.

Jennings, who led all 49ers wide receivers last season in receiving yards, wasn’t able to make all that much of an impact in Sunday’s game, hauling in just one reception for seven yards. This is despite the fact that 49ers quarterback Mac Jones threw for 347 yards in a losing effort.

The 49ers received some truly crushing injury news during Sunday’s game when star linebacker Fred Warner was carted off the field during the game, which has since been reported to be a dislocated right ankle that puts the remainder of his season in jeopardy.

Unfortunately, the blows kept coming for the 49ers after their Week 6 game, as Jennings revealed to reporters that he is playing through multiple injuries, including five broken ribs and high and low ankle sprains.

This revelation from Jennings certainly explains his lack of production in the game, specifically when you consider how the 49ers were also without Ricky Pearsall, which you would expect Jennings to see more opportunities from.

Now that the severity of Jennings’ injury has been made public, there may be calls for the team to hold him out in their next few games in order to get him back at 100 percent instead of sending him out to play as hampered as he appears to be.

Regardless, this comment from Jennings certainly further adds to the concerns around their wide receiver room moving forward, which has been without Brandon Aiyuk for the entirety of the season as he recovers from his torn ACL last season, and Ricky Pearsall for the last two games.
