What started as a playful appearance by the Milwaukee Admirals’ rink dog quickly turned into a scene that had fans laughing across social media.
On TikTok, the Milwaukee Admirals (@mkeadmirals)—an AHL affiliate team of the Nashville Predators—shared a video of their golden retriever “rink dog” in response to a comment on a previous clip showing the dog running across the ice.
In the video, the rink dog is seen slipping and sliding while chasing the puck as someone moves it across the ice.
One commenter suggested buying him some snow boots, but the outcome wasn’t quite what anyone expected.
The overlaid text reads, “Very candid, very real rink dog + snow boots.”
As the video begins, the dog can be seen walking towards the rink with his new snow boots on before the person filming throws a puck on the ice.
However, as the dog begins running after the puck, his new snow boots fly off.
“Alright, so now what?” they wrote in the caption.
Users React
TikTok users flocked to the comments to weigh in, with many appreciating the dog’s enthusiasm.
“The gloves are off, he’s ready to fight,” one joked, while another quipped, “He done run right out of his boots!”
A third pointed out, “Well…[the original commenter was] right. It was cute, and then it was hilarious.”
“Probably took longer to put the boots on than it took for them to come off,” another user added.
Golden retrievers frequently appear in viral videos because of their energetic and playful behavior.
One previous Newsweek story reported on a viral TikTok video showing a golden retriever named Drake doing his favorite pastime of ice skating.
In the video, the dog can be seen skating across an ice rink, chasing pucks and having a wonderful time.
It’s no surprise that Drake loves the ice rink, as golden retrievers can withstand freezing temperatures before they start to get too cold or become susceptible to hypothermia, according to PetKeen.
Another Newsweek story covered a hilarious TikTok video that captured a golden retriever named Maggie stealing her neighbor’s pizza, which had been left on the stoop.
As the clip begins, Maggie can be seen scurrying up the stoop and going through the box, eating a number of slices that were left inside.
Newsweek has reached out to the Milwaukee Admirals for comment via email.
