TRISHULI, Nepal: More than 1,000 people are missing on Thursday (Aug 27) after catastrophic flash floods and landslides struck the Nepal-Tibet border, with about 360 people killed.
The disaster caused homes to be engulfed and vehicles tossed around by the tsunami-like rumble of water and mud.
An update by the Nepal Tourism Board at 12pm local time (2.15pm, Singapore time) listed 644 missing people, including nine Singaporeans.
Rescuers are racing to find survivors, while authorities have warned of the risk of a second flood.
