With HBO’s Harry Potter reboot coming up, it’s time to rank the original movies and remember where it all began.

Using IMDb scores, we’re listing every movie in both the nine-film “Harry Potter” series and three-film “Fantastic Beasts” spinoff, from worst to best, plus where you can watch them in 2026.

Introduced to the world with 2001’s “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, Warner Bros.’ adaptations of author JK Rowling’s globally popular novels follow a young boy who enrolls in a secret school for witches and wizards.

The final installment came with 2011’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”, but that wasn’t the end for the wizarding world. “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” followed in 2016, expanding the lore with a prequel story set well before the birth of the Boy Who Lived.

Now, with HBO’s lavish series set for a 2026 release, we come full circle. Adding a whole new cast, and unfolding its story over episodes rather than cramming it into films, it promises to be an even more definitive reimagining of the source material.

As you’d expect, HBO hosts plenty of Potter, but it’s not the only place to watch all 11 cinematic installments.
