Shootings at a school in British Columbia and nearby home have left ten people dead, including a female suspect who police believe to be the shooter, Canadian authorities have said.

More than 25 people are injured, two with life-threatening injuries, after the shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on Tuesday

In a press conference,  Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superintendent Ken Floyd told reporters that investigators had identified a female suspect but did not release a name. There is no known motive for the attack and police are still investigating how the victims and shooter are connected.

  • Tumbler Ridge Secondary School has 175 students from Grades 7 to 12. It is located 600 miles north of Vancouver, near the Alberta border
  • Seven people were found dead in the school, including a suspect who appeared to have died of a “self-inflicted injury.” An eighth person died while being transported to a hospital
  • Two more were found dead at a home, authorities believe is connected to the shooting at the school
