Brooke Hogan used actor Cillian Murphy to illustrate how her past continues to influence her present state of mind.

Hogan, 37, took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 19, to share a video compilation of Murphy, 49, glaring at people with judgment in his eyes.

“When childhood trauma taught you to spot the snake in the grass before anyone else,” the video was captioned.

The post came nearly a month after the death of Brooke’s father, legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan

Hulk died on July 24 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. His cause of death was later ruled to be a heart attack. He was 71 years old.

Brooke also posted a list of “Things You Should Not Share With Your Kids” via her Instagram Story on Tuesday.

The list included things like “details of your marital conflicts,” “negative opinions about family members,” “criticism about their other parent” and “unfiltered emotional outbursts.”

Brooke and her husband, former NHL player Steven Oleksy, welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly, in January.

Since Hulk’s death, Brooke has been open about discussing their estrangement in the years leading up to his passing.

In a post shared via Instagram on July 28, Brooke said her relationship with Hulk became filled with “respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll” on her after she and Oleksy, 39, relocated to Florida to assist him with his ongoing health issues.

“All of a sudden he didn’t want me at surgeries,” Brooke explained. “Everything started getting covered in a thick veil. It was like there was a force field around him that I couldn’t get through.”

Brooke has also been estranged from her mother, Linda Hogan, for years. Linda and her son, Nick, whom she shared with Hulk, were both present at a memorial service for Hulk on August 5.

After declining an invitation, Brooke explained her reasoning on social media.

“My father hated the morbidity of funerals,” she wrote via Instagram on the day of the memorial service. “He didn’t want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways – and I’m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him.”

Instead, Brooke, her husband and their twins had a beach day in honor of her late father.

“The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset 💔,” Brooke wrote.

Brooke has also attempted to clear the air about perceived beef between herself and Sky Daily, Hulk’s wife at the time of his death.

“I have said in EVERY interview that she was always nice to me,” Brooke posted via her Instagram Story on August 7. “Me and her don’t have beef as far as I know.”
