Chelsea Green has provided a devastating update regarding her injury status, confirming the worst fears of her fanbase. The WWE superstar took to social media to reveal that she has suffered a broken ankle, an injury that will undoubtedly keep her on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Green was last in action on the February 6th episode of “WWE Friday Night SmackDown,” where she competed in a high-stakes Elimination Chamber qualifying match. It was during this bout that the injury occurred, derailing her momentum on the “Road to WrestleMania 42.”

Plans Changed At AAA

The injury had immediate consequences beyond WWE programming. Green was advertised to be in action the very next day at the “AAA on FOX” show in Mexico. She and “NXT” North American Champion Ethan Page were scheduled to defend their AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles against the duo of Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana.

However, before the match could take place, a camera shot backstage showed Page FaceTiming Green. During the call, Green appeared wearing a walking boot and somberly informed her partner that she would not be able to make the match due to her condition.

Broken Ankle Confirmed

Initially, there was hope that the injury might simply be a severe sprain. However, in an update following the show, Green took to social media to share the grim reality: she has broken her ankle. This diagnosis likely rules her out of the “Elimination Chamber” event and puts her status for “WrestleMania” in Las Vegas in serious jeopardy.

New Champions Crowned

With Green unable to compete, the show had to go on. Luchadora La Hiedra stepped in to team with Ethan Page for the title defense. Despite the valiant effort from the makeshift team, the lack of chemistry proved fatal.

Page and La Hiedra ended up losing to the cohesive unit of Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana, ending Page and Green’s reign and crowning new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions. The loss compounds a terrible weekend for Green, who now faces a long road to recovery while watching her championships slip away.
