The Dallas Cowboys filled a void on Saturday that was left by the Oza Odighizuwa trade with the San Francisco 49ers.
Dallas had depth left over on the defensive front with Kenny Clark, Quinnen Williams, and Tyrus Wheat on the edges; the Cowboys needed a little more depth. The Cowboys signed Jonathan Bullard, a 10-year veteran who has made $11 million in his career overall, with 247 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 10 pass deflections in 131 games.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Bullard has a one-year, $2.5 million max deal. Garafolo said Bullard’s agent, Jon Perzley, confirmed the news.
Bullard fittingly did it on his late grandmother Joyce’s birthday, Garafolo reported. Bullard’s grandmother was a Cowboys fan and known for “hollering at the TV” during games, Garafolo added.

The Chicago Bears drafted Bullard in 2016 with a third-round pick out of Florida, where he played for the Gators from 2012 to 2015. Bullard played for the Bears from 2016 to 2018. He made five starts and played in 46 games, as he tallied 62 tackles and two sacks. The Bears waived him in 2019.
He joined the Arizona Cardinals, where he started six games in 2019, but injuries hampered his time in the desert. Arizona placed him on the practice squad in 2022 after final preseason roster cuts, and the Seattle Seahawks plucked him from the Cardinals’ practice squad. He appeared in six games for the Seahawks that year.
Bullard then spent 2021 with the Atlanta Falcons, where he started four games and had 21 tackles. He then signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022 and played three seasons there with 108 tackles and three sacks in 46 games. He then joined the New Orleans Saints for the 2025 season and appeared in 15 games with 26 tackles and two pass deflections.
Bullard has playoff experience with three career games from his time in Chicago and Minnesota.
