Dermot Mulroney is looking ahead to his upcoming Western project amid his divorce.

Dermot, 61, revealed that he has been focused on work, particularly the film Three Dead Boys, alongside his son, Clyde Mulroney.

“Last weekend was an epic unforgettable full-circle western moment filming THREE DEAD BOYS @three.dead.boys.movie 🔄 with Clyde @dr.ilbit writing, directing, and acting opposite his dad @dermotmulroney with Joey Wilson @olisaemeka13 filmed in Joshua Tree 🌅🌵,” the caption of the actor’s recent Instagram post said.

The post featured a series of photos, including one of Dermot sitting in a chair with his name spelled incorrectly on the back of it as a dog sat beside him. Another picture showed a close-up of his leather vest, plaid shirt, leather belt and blue jeans.

“Frame 1 is the original #DirtySteve chair back (yes! mis-spelled!) I’ve kept it 37 years to keep me humble frame 3 is #DirtySteve ‘s leather vest #youngguns thx #westerncostume (defunct) and the hand-riveted spurs are my dads MM #threedeadboys #directorclyde and the dog⭐️ is Butterfly 🦋 #bigboybutterfly #takeyourdogtoworkday (follow @three.dead.boys.movie for future festival details)” the caption continued.

The caption of the post referred to Dirty Steve Stephens, Dermot’s character in the 1988 Western Young Guns. The actor costarred in the Christopher Cain film alongside Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Charlie Sheen.

Other photos showed Dermot and Clyde, 26, on set with other cast and crew members dressed in their Western costumes.

Dermot, who shares Clyde with ex-wife Catherine Keener, had fans expressing their excitement for the father-son project.

“Congrats Clyde! So cool to be able to work with your dad!” one person commented on the post, as another person said, “Looking forward to seeing it. Kudos to your son! 🙌👏❤️.”

“Nice work Clyde!” a third person said, as a fourth person said, “A proud Dad !”

“Keep your head up Dermot, you’re awesome 👏,” another person said.

The Instagram post came days after Dermot filed for divorce from wife Prima Apollinaare on June 23 after 14 years of marriage. He shares kids Mabel, 17, and Sally, 15, with Apollinaare, who he married in 2010.

Dermot is asking for spousal support from Apollinaare, per documents obtained by Us Weekly. He also asked the court to prevent her from receiving any financial support from him. Their date of separation was listed as “TBD.”

Years prior to their split, Dermot discussed why he was not pressuring his kids to follow in his Hollywood footsteps.

“I try to keep arts in front of them, whether it’s music or even just museum trips. I don’t expect anything of them — it’s hard enough for everyone just to get their homework done at night,” he told Hollywood News in January 2016. “Let’s just get them through grade school, and then see. We’ve all certainly seen that being a child actor is unhealthy so, I wouldn’t do that.”

When asked what his kids thought about his acting career, he said, “I think there’s mainly indifference. It’s just the comings and goings; whether I’m home or not.”
