There is usually little that can separate even the most obedient dog from their favorite food, but one canine has proven that he can resist generous portions of it.
The dog, a Labrador, Saint Bernard, Bernese mountain and Pyrenees mix, was captured sitting patiently with two large blocks of cheese placed on either of his paws. While most dogs would have barely lasted a second when that close to a cube of cheese, this dog stayed still, resisting the urge to move and tuck into the treat—amazing viewers online in the process.
The short clip capturing his patience and good training was shared to TikTok on September 12 by @_chubbstok, where it has been viewed more than 266,000 times to date.
The moment has drawn amazement and praise from viewers on the platform.
TikTok users were able to see the dog laying down with his paws stretched out in front of him. On each of his paws, his owner had balanced a block of cheese. The dog, clearly desperate to bite into the snack, was filmed twitching his ears and drooling from his mouth as if ready to make a move for lunch.
An overlaid text on the video read: “OMG OMG OMG is that…cheese? OK…just stay calm…remember your training. I am goodest boy!!!”
“He is goodest boy,” the caption added.
Viewers on TikTok were quick to chime in with the praise, with many sharing their delight at the dog’s good behavior in the comments.
“He get the whole block,” one viewer said.
“If it was any other breed I would not have commented but to get those greedy Labradors to do this,” another added. “The work you [do] is immense.”
“He is even salivating,” a third viewer shared. “Oh, poor boy.”
“Give him the gosh darn cheese,” another said.
“You don’t even have the chance to finish your command before my dog inhaled it all,” another added.
“Fair play…My Labs are so good at waiting for their command,” another said. “But doing it with cheese is next level!! Mine will not wait for cheese.”
“The drool, my God,” another viewer pointed out.
“Such a good boy,” another said, while another added: “Let him have the cheese, he’s a good boy he deserves cheese.”
