President Donald Trump said Monday that talks with Iran are “continuing, at a rapid pace,” even as Tehran signaled it has suspended negotiations amid escalating violence in Lebanon.

In posts on Truth Social, Trump also claimed Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to halt fighting after calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and intermediaries for the militant group.

Iranian state-linked media reported the talks were paused in protest over Israel’s military offensive in Lebanon, complicating efforts to reach a broader ceasefire deal tied to the regional conflict.

Trump said Washington had not been formally notified of any suspension.

“If they don’t want to talk, that’s OK with me,” Trump told NBC News. “I think it’s fine. I don’t particularly want to talk either. We talk too much. It’s an appropriate thing to say, because they’re better negotiators than they are fighters. But they haven’t informed us of that.”
