The Eagles offense continued to struggle against the Broncos, and head coach Nick Sirianni questioned the decision not to give star running back Saquon Barkley more touches, especially when the team had the lead in the second half.

Per Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice, quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver A.J. Brown, and Barkley had a meeting on Monday that lasted a couple of hours.

“I’m told Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Saquon Barkley had a long, positive conversation today,” Kempsi posted on X. “Lasted a couple hours.”

The players-only meeting was a strong action for those three to take on Monday, a few days before the Eagles travel to play the New York Giants on “Thursday Night Football.”

During his news conference on Tuesday, Hurts said the focus of the meeting was to try and figure out how to win games moving forward.

“That’s just us talking about the collective and talking about taking ownership for what we can, talking about how we move forward as a team so we can continue to find ways to win games,” Hurts said, via video posted on X from Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP.

Hurts declined to give further details about the meeting, other than saying he “enjoyed every second of it.”

Brown and Barkley are two players that the Eagles believe need a fair amount of touches every game to keep the offense humming.

Despite their offensive woes through the first five games, the Eagles have an opportunity to improve to 5-1 with a win over the Giants on Thursday night. Philadelphia has a one-game lead over the 3-2 Washington Commanders for first place in the NFC East.
