The CDC, working with Customs and Border Protection (CBP), said the measures are designed to identify potential cases before travelers disperse across the United States, warning that passengers should expect flight changes, cancellations, and extended processing times upon arrival. The alert was issued alongside a separate worldwide caution from the State Department, which urged Americans abroad—particularly in the Middle East—to heighten vigilance amid rising threats to U.S. diplomatic facilities and periodic airspace closures.
