A home in Sydney’s south-west has been targeted in a shooting for the second time in 48 hours, as the state’s police commissioner denied claims gun violence is out of control.
A manhunt is under way after several shots were fired into the home on Aberdeen Street, Bossley Park about 6.30am on Friday.

A single bullet hit a caravan outside the home in one of three shootings on Wednesday night.
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said gun violence in the city’s west was “definitely not out of hand”, and that cracking down on organised crime remained a top priority for police.

“We’ve made significant arrests. We will not stand for the type of violence you are seeing there,” he said.
A white Audi sedan was involved in both shootings, matching a vehicle found abandoned following a crash at the nearby intersection of Mimosa Road and Prairie Vale Road on Friday morning.
