Yale, which was picked fourth in the Ivy League preseason poll, has a lot of new faces this season with 14 new players joining a roster led by All-Ivy Honorable Mention selection Patrick Pisano. Last season, the Bulldogs went 5-8 on the season, with their season ending with a 21-14 loss to Cornell in the conference tournament.
Army has opened the season with a 2-0 record. The team defeated UMass 14-8 in the season opener, then defeated Rutgers 11-9. In the latter game, attackman Gunnar Fellows scored four goals to lead the way for the Black Knights.
These teams last met last February, with Army winning in a rout, defeating the Bulldogs 14-3 after jumping out to a 7-1 first-quarter lead. Fellows was tied with Brayden Fountain for the team high of three goals. Yale hosted that contest, which was the first meeting of the two programs.
