Influencer Malik Taylor’s cause of death has been revealed.
The Concord Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly on Sunday, August 24, that Taylor died in North Carolina at age 28 after a vehicle accident. Authorities explained that a Nissan Rogue SUV had fallen about 20 feet, with officers responding to the scene where Taylor was pronounced dead.
Police said that alcohol played a role in Taylor’s death, with a medical examiner concluding that he died of “multiple blunt force injuries” because of the accident.
Taylor’s death was announced on Thursday, August 21, by his Austin Peay State University business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share our beloved Brother, Malik Taylor, has gone to ‘Audit Eternal.’ To know him was to know he was a light to everyone — always bringing laughter, joy, and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered,” the business fraternity wrote via social media alongside a photo of Taylor. “Brother Taylor embodied the values of brotherhood, unity, and compassion. His ability to uplift others, share kindness, and spread joy will forever remain in our memories.”
The tribute continued, “Though your time with us was far too short, you were a good and faithful Brother, and the ‘Great Auditor’ will reward you for your everlasting work.”
The business fraternity noted that their “thoughts and prayers” are with Taylor’s “family, friends and all who loved him.”
“Rest in peace, Malik Taylor, Zeta Phi Chapter Spring 2017,” the post concluded. “You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will continue to inspire us..”
Days later, the business fraternity announced that they were “honored to share the words” written by Taylor’s family.
“It is with love and gratitude that we, the family of Malik Taylor, acknowledge the incredible support and kindness shown following his untimely passing due to a tragic vehicle accident,” the family wrote.
The post continued, “To us, Malik was so much more than a content creator – he was a beloved son, brother, nephew and friend. His creativity, humor and spirit touched countless lives and his legacy of inspiring, entertaining and uplifting others will continue to live on.”
The family continued their statement by asking for “privacy and compassion as we grieve and find strength together.”
“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love from the community that has embraced him,” the post concluded. “Your encouragement and support mean more than words can ever express.”
Taylor, who amassed more than 250,000 followers across his social media accounts, frequently broke down major pop culture moments.
